This chapter was revealed in Mecca and consists of 46 verses. It emphasizes the truth of afterlife and the reality of resurrection. It provides arguments for it based on God’s direction of affairs, concluding that the people will be classified into the inhabitants of paradise and the dwellers of hell. The chapter closes by addressing their question about the time of the Hour, and the reply to that. The theme of the verses shows that the chapter was revealed in Mecca.
